A Word from The Sponsor~February 19

James 1:22-25

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
~James 1:22-25

One of the greatest blocks to full graceful recovery is the fear, the resistance, the inability to look in the  mirror of our life choices and give forgiveness. Is it any surprise that the word “give” is smack-dab in the middle of “forgiveness”?

Instead there are excuses. Joyce Meyer says that excuses are reasons stuffed with a lie.
Any partaker at Thanksgiving knows that stuffing ourselves is rarely productive. And lying perpetuates the poison.
Excuses extend deception.

“The mirror helps us evaluate ourselves. Once you look at a mirror, you can decide if you need to make any changes before you leave for the day. The Bible helps us do that, too.” (Rick Warren)

Look in the mirror. Let Go~Let God.

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Is it possible that the one who needs your forgiveness the most is you?

Wishing you love and courage as you look in the mirror.
