Romans 5:3-5 is the Bible verse that seems especially helpful for my graduate students right now.

“…we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance brings God’s approval, and his approval creates hope. This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured out his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us.” ~Romans 5:3-5

The word from The Sponsor Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 provided as theme Bible verse in a post from Dr. Bernard Bull, the President-elect of Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska.

“The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ.” ~1 Corinthians 12:12-14

Amos 5:4 has been a forefront verse for me this week as the huge snow storm in Texas has affected the utilities, food supply, water supply, and other conveniences of everyday life. It took some discipline toward my entitled inner child to center on The Sponsor, who never fails.

Praying for the safety of all who may glance at this post.

Proverbs 3:3-6 is the “Go-To” Bible Verse set chosen by one of my talented graduate students.

3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;

    bind them around your neck,

    write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Then you will win favor and a good name

    in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart

    and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to Him,

    and He will make your paths straight. ~Proverbs 3:3-6 (niv)

A familiar verse in 3-part version harmony

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ~Galatians 5: 22-23 (niv)

22But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these. ~Galatians 5: 22-23 (Good News Translation)

22 The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this. ~Galatians 5: 22-23

Psalm 145  is a testimony of praise that also lends itself as a tutorial on Leadership.

Here is a portion of the original Psalm 145 by the King and Leader David

A Song of Praise Of David.

I will extol you, my God and King, and bless Your Name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You and praise your Name forever and ever.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall commend Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.
On the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works, I will meditate.
They shall speak of the might of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness.
They shall pour forth the fame of Your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of Your righteousness.
The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The Lord is good to all, and His mercy is over all that He has made.
All your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and all Your saints shall bless you!
They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and tell of Your power,
to make known Your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[The Lord is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works.]
The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season.
You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
The Lord is righteous in all His ways  and kind in all His works.
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.

~~~This Psalm, in its original Hebrew, is an acrostic poem, each verse beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Our precher today encourage us to personalize this Psalm with our name.
Since I am teaching an Educatonal Leadership class, it was interesting to see if there are Leadership connections in Psalm 145, since it was written by a great political leader.
Portions of Psalm 145, such as verses 8,9, 15-22 offer a tutorial on Leadership too. Simply interject and substitute the word “Servant Leader”  to see the action steps of Servant Leadership (also apt for Marriage and Parenting):
Try it and see.
Psalm 145: 8,9, 13-18 A Song of Leadership. Adapted from King David.
8 The Servant Leader is gracious and merciful,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
9 The Servant Leader is good to all,
    and his mercy is over all that {they} lead.
13 [The Servant Leader is faithful in all {their} words
    and kind in all {their} works.
14 The Servant Leader upholds all who are falling
    and raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all look to the Servant Leader,
    and {they} give them their food in due season.
16 Servant Leader opens {their} hands;
    you satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17 The Servant Leader is righteous in all {their} ways
    and kind in all {their} works.
18 Servant Leader is near to all who call…
What If you read and prayed about these words daily for a month? What change would you see?
Something to think and pray about this week!
