Mid Week Question~December 31~Resolutely Because of Grace

The last post of the year is written in the form of a question.

As you consider resolutions, what about Bible verses?

What is your focus verse for 2015?

“He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10

Resolve in 2015 not to lose your new-ness and your joy.

The easiest thing of all to lose is your joy. You can lose it with one phone call or email, a letter or conversation. You can watch a commercial on TV and lose your joy. It’s the easiest thing in the world to lose. And a lot of people in a lot of circumstances are conspiring to rob it from you. ~Rick Warren

My mother used to say that JOY means “Jesus Occupies You.”

When “Jesus Occupies You” then other gremlins have no room to wreak havoc.

Ephesians 3:20 has been my focus verse for 2013.
(gently click on the picture if it appears too small)

Ephesians 3:20

Now all glory to God who is able through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
~Ephesians 3:20

The story of the power of this verse in my life during 2013 remains in the pages of my journal.
For now.
But I will tell you this for now…

There is power in God’s word.

I encourage you to ask God in prayer for your verse for 2014.
Your word from your Sponsor.
He has one for you…or twoor more.
Because of Grace…He is a God of the Abundant.

Mid-week Question of the Week~August 28

Sometimes doing the most important thing eternally – doesn’t look like you are doing anything noticeably. ~Ann Voskamp in this post

What are you doing?

Something I need to remember when my to-do list becomes a to-don’t list:

We all are “God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” ~Ephesians 2:10

This Weekend~Easy Weekend Activity~May 17~Release the Need for an explanation…

releasetheneedforexplanationExplanation Expectations…they are what generates little goblins of trouble, you know.

one of the tugs at peace, contentment, and gratitude is my need for demand for an explanation. This demand is the tar that keeps this baby stuck in anxiousness, stress, and tight-neck-ville.

When something goes wrong in life, I ask, “Why is this happening to me, God? Why did you allow this to come to me, God?”

“to me,” “to me”…I will “me-me-me” all the way to the looney bin.

Release the Need for an explanation…

So, instead, this weekend… I am releasing my need for an explanation. Perhaps you might do this with me? I am replacing what I know to be true instead. Perhaps you might do this also?
