Grace-filled Quotes ~ December 24

Spending a mostly solitary day today, driving to Nocona, Texas to lay a wreath on Dad and Mom’s resting place. Thinking of Henri Nouwen’s wise words:

‘Solitude is the furnace of transformation. Without solitude, we remain
victims of our society and continue to be entangled in the illusions of
the false self.” ~Henri Nouwen

Because of Grace, solitude is not to be feared or avoided.

Monday Words for the Soul~September 9~Gratitude

Gratitude […] goes beyond the ‘mine’ and ‘thine’ and claims the truth that all of life is a pure gift. In the past I always thought of gratitude as a spontaneous response to the awareness of gifts received, but now I realize that gratitude can also be lived as a discipline. The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy. ~Henri Nouwen

thank you

This Weekend~Choose Joy~May 31

choose joy Henri Nouwen

A reminder that joy is not a single source decision point. From one of my favorite authors, Henri Nouwen, who wrote Life of the Beloved, a book recommended five years ago by a wise friend named JanK.
