a Grace Scavenger Hunt

Go on a Grace Scavenger Hunt…What can you find? What can you leave?

Last week, I considered moving a blog and a dog.

I found grace in the calls of a friend who stayed with me during all of the panel interviews. Whose reassurances reminded me that listening to my inner voice cautions was the correct path “to heed”

Last week, I saw the Grace of a river that flows North, against the usual flow.
Toured a house for lease because of divorce… Another for lease because of a move for an autistic child.

Amid the unusual currents and broken dreams, I needed to remember:

There is a little secret something so amazing, so miraculous and so wonderful…
The secret is that there is nothing that others can do to really hurt us from the outside when we do not allow our own thoughts to hurt us on the inside. Once we take care of what is going on inside of our minds and our hearts and our souls, anything that tries to come at us from the outside simply can have no influence on our life.

Amid the unusual currents and broken dreams, I wanted to leave a note: You are Loved

The graffiti can be grace.
What seems a defacement may be a glimpse of His face. ~Ann Voskamp

I left a note in the motel room I left; another in the Budget rental, and the airplane seat pocket in front of me.
There are pictures to commememorate this on the fancy phone. When I learn how to download I will post.

There are many lessons to download this week.

Chief of them: Because of Grace it is ok to look for more than “a job”

Grace is the “dialect of God is the day just as it comes — the divine language of love written on all the walls.

Grace always shocks.

Grace always stuns.

Grace is always what we need.

It’s what everyone groping around lost in the dark has to know: turn towards Grace and you turn on all the lights. ~Ann Voskamp

Mid-Week Question to Consider~Let Others Know!

Could you imagine what our world would be like if we all took the time to let others know how truly amazing they are?
What would our lives be like if we found the beauty in every person we met… and told them?
How would we feel if we let down our guards and allowed others to see who we really are?

truly amazing you are

~Kind of getting to the age where this is an attractive post: Super Health Benefits from Ginger Baths

A special thought of love right before Valentine’s Day:
Love lets go of it’s ultimatums — to ultimately hold a person Ready to let go of pain of the tearing apart of what was. Ready to take the ripped scraps, stitch them together, to make a sail from what’s dead and catch the wind ahead. Ready to take wind blowing in beyond my control, and just make water of it. I’ve been thirsty too long and I am desperate to drink. Sometimes letting go is how to find out He holds. Ann Voskamp, When the Wind Blows and Love Tries to Hold On

~How are you doing on your focus word for the year? Can you find the word “Affirm” in this word cloud by Bonnie Grey @ Faith Barrista?

~Still loving the images and languid pace of Winter’s description by David Arms:
Just like no two types of trees grow the same leaves, no two types of trees grow their branches in the same formation. And when the trees are bear, the intricacy of these patterns is beautifully displayed against the grey skies of winter. ~David Arms

~It really is time because “There is no time left for hesitating, protecting our hearts, or living in fear of doing the “wrong” thing, not pleasing others, rocking the boat. That way of living simply is not working. It’s an old paradigm whose days are numbered.” ~Alia in the Inner Bliss Blog post you will appreciate… Breathe and Read this post. Breathe and Read

~Ok, I have put on my big girl smile and adjusted to the announcement that April is the end of Picnik. Thanks to Ann Voskamp for providing these alternatives to Picnik

~This week was especially significant for me. I let go of some things and embraced some things. When this post from Alia arrived in my Inbox, I felt the hug in the timing.

“How often do we stuff pain and sorrow within our hearts, never to see the light? We carry this baggage around with us, paying a huge price for it every day. It eats away at us with its constant presence. We often forget it’s there.”  ~Alia, Inner Bliss Blog

“Yes, you are good enough. You matter more than you have ever allowed yourself to know. There is someone out there right now thinking of you and loving you. You are worthy of so much love, because you are love. You are a gift. A precious gift. Your existence is a miracle. You are a miracle!”

Make Your Server Hate You

“We are so used to hanging on to things that the idea of releasing feels a bit scary. But what if we really just let go? Imagine that for a moment. Just imagine releasing everything that has been weighing you down. What would that feel like? By letting go, we create space. Things become lighter, and a sense of being guided begins to show up.”

What I Learned This Week~~~Because of Grace

☺ The servant-hearted never serve alone. Serve God –spend the whole of your one wild and beautiful life investing in many lives — and God simply will not be outdone. God extravagantly pays back everything we give away and exactly in the currency that is not of this world but the one we yearn for: Joy in Him…To read more, gently click here

☺ There is such relief in knowing that the most important time is happening right now.  I can really let go of my worries about the future, ruminations about the past, and truly experience the freedom of living in the present moment.  To read more, gently click here

It is not necessary to prove yourself…

… it is not necessary to “prove yourself” to anyone.

Do your best. That’s all you can ask of yourself. If you
did your best and things just didn’t work out, you don’t
owe an apology to anyone. And you certainly don’t
need to feel ‘bad’ about it — or, worse yet, guilty.
Stop beating yourself up. What happened is what
happened. You’re not the ‘villain’ here, I promise. It’s
just what happened. And there is a Soul Reason, I
promise you.

Taming Our Inner Critic

silence your inner critic
From Inner Bliss Blog
“When we are able to value our self-worth as much as we listen to the self-critic we begin to tap the resource of wisdom.”
How we speak to ourselves has a profound impact on how we go about our day, in every interaction.  Speak with love and kindness and we’ll attract more situations and people that also speak to us in that way.  When we focus on the aspects we find “less than perfect”, we often attract more people to affirm just what we are thinking about.  I see this in my own life all the time.  What I believe to be true about myself is often what others believe about me as well.
