Midweek Question of the Week~Faith~October 16

Do you have faith in your faith? Or faith in God?

They sound like the same question…until you read them slowly and prayerfully consider, if perhaps there may be a difference. And it is so easy to let the distinction pass unnoticed. But what did Mark Twain said about word choice?

The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug.” ~Mark Twain

When trouble arises or when happiness settles in, do we press on because of our faith, congratulate ourselves for being faithful…or…

Do we run to The Source of all good and perfect gifts and all support in time of trouble.

Deep in your spirit you know. Now is not the time for fear. Now is the time to exercise your faith totally in Him.

~John 16:33

Sail Away from the Safe Harbor

Mark Twain quote sail away from the safe harbor

Would it be Exhilarating today to do one, small thing out of our carefully crafted comfort zone?

And this quote from my friend SueG:

“This is as true in everyday life as it is in battle: We are given one life, and the decision is ours whether to wait for circumstances to make up our mind or whether to act and, in acting, to live.” ~~ Omar Bradley, General

Maybe it was because my dad turned 84 years-old this week, but there seemed to be a theme this week:

What a great gift this writer has: Activating Hope

Willpower vs. Soulpower with willpower, you might succeed at doing something new for a few weeks, but your own efforts only go so far. Knowing the right thing to do doesn’t mean you have the power to do it. Lasting change will only come when your inner nature changes, when you live by soulpower. Emailed from my friend Garrett is this wonderful post about what Mark Twain Can Teach Us About Living.  My favorite quote from this blog post: “Drag your thoughts away from your troubles… by the ears, by the heels, or any other way you can manage it.”

By being watchful, we can let the right thoughts in and the right ones go~~Gently click here to linger a moment

My favorite poet, Pablo Neruda, had a birthday this week. Give yourself a gift and read one of his poems
Pablo Neruda wrote all of his poems in green ink because he thought it was the color of esperanza, hope.

Hope …there it is again…maybe if I can’t go a day without thinking with hope, then I need to continue to embrace it.

never give up
